Henry 1 through Henry Jr.
an explanation

The repetitive use of the name "Henry" across generations has prompted my use of a convention that was not followed by the original owners of the names, but simply to keep them straight in my mind differentiated in the file.

My convention:

Henry 1 - born in the early 1700's (speculative);

Henry 2 - born about 1762 (existed, but link to our line is speculative);

Lemuel (our firm point of reference)  - b 1799;

Henry Sr. - born 1831;

Henry Jr. - born 1881;

-and I can't forget my brother Tom, Henry Thomas Taylor, born 1951.
